A lot of people have so many things going on in their lives that it might seem a bit difficult to fit the training into their routine. This might become an excuse for some to lag behind and skip sessions at the gym and in this way delay the results they want to see.

Sure, if you work many hours every day, five days a week and after that have other things in your life to take care of it can be easy to drop the training. And sure, there has to be a balance and if there is one week that is extra busy, perhaps you can allow yourself a break. However, if you are going for fast muscle gain and a strong muscular body you wouldn’t want to make that into a habit.

I can ensure you that after the first few months(for some lucky ones it might only take weeks) you won’t even need to look for ways to fit your training into your schedule since it by then will be a natural part of your lifestyle. Then you will know when it is the best time for you to go to the gym. Maybe you like to kick off you day with a session – it can be a great way to begin the day and you will probably feel that you have more energy also at work, if you make that into a habit.

Or you find that a break at lunchtime is the best time for you to have your muscle gain session. It can feel great, especially if you have a job where you sit still a lot, maybe in front of the computer, to do something physical as a break.

Some people find that they prefer to do their training straight after work, then the training session becomes a great way to shift your energy and release the working day. Find what works for you and remember that it takes a while to create a habit but once you have it, it is usually pretty easy to maintain.

Personally, I have found that I enjoy training straight after work on weekdays and on the weekends, when I have time off, I prefer to start the day with a session at the gym. Find what works for you and the fewer excuses you have to put you training off, the faster you will be able to see your muscles grow.

There are loads of muscle building supplements on the market today, lots of protein powders and other fuels that promises that they can make your muscle grow much faster. The question some might ask themselves are; how much protein do we really need to feed our body with to gain muscles? Is it perhaps enough with the amount we get from a regular diet?

So, what’s the answer? Well, muscles are built up by protein to the main part and it seems logical, when you know that, that an increase of protein should be necessary when you want to expand and grow the muscle mass you have. So certainly, you do need protein to increase your muscle mass. Research has found that people that do a lot of exercise – may it be weight lifting or cardiovascular training – does have an increased protein metabolism and might because of this need up to twice the amount of what the average person needs.

The amount that is recommended for weight lifters is somewhere between 1.2 and 1.8 g/kg ( somewhere between 0.7 and 0.9g/pound). The amount you will need is of course individual and depending on a lot of different factors. I would recommend that you start with the lower amount and if you feel that you don’t get the results you are looking for, increase it over time. However, it is smart to let the body get used to new conditions gradually and to double the amount of protein you eat from one day to another can make your body stressed.

So do you need protein powder or is it possible to get that amount of protein from your diet? For most diets, it is pretty easy. As a matter of fact, the average American citizen already eats about 50% more protein than the recommended daily amount so if you are on a meat and poultry diet you probably already have enough and by going to the gym you will make sure that it is transformed into muscles instead of something less desirable.

Here are a few examples of protein rich food:

*Most cuts of beef – 7 grams of protein per ounce

*Steak, 6 oz – 42 grams

*Chicken breast, 3.5 oz - 30 grams protein

*Most fish fillets or steaks are about 22 grams of protein for 3 ½ oz (100 grams) of cooked fish, or 6 grams per ounce

*Pork chop, average - 22 grams protein

*Egg, large - 6 grams protein

*Milk, 1 cup - 8 grams

*Most beans (black, pinto, lentils, etc) about 7-10 grams protein per half cup of cooked beans

*Pumpkin seeds, ¼ cup – 19 grams

*Other nuts and seeds, ¼ cup - between 5-10 g

As you can see, it is quite easy to get up to a decent amount of protein each day solely from your normal diet, perhaps with some small changes. Even for vegetarians it is pretty easy to eat protein rich food even though it might take a bit more planning.

However, I still find protein powder a great addition to your diet. One reason is that it is easy, you simply make your shake and you got a good amount of protein. It also has the benefit to have many of the essential amino acids that you need for your body, at least if it is a powder of good quality. Another great thing about bodybuilding supplements are that you can have a pretty good idea of how much protein you’re getting from it. It is also good if you find that you eat pretty much the normal amount of protein(around 0.8g/kg or 36g/pound) and don’t have a desire to change your diet. By adding a few shakes each day you get that extra protein and don’t have to struggle to eat more if that would be an issue.

Lastly I want to give you the advice to listen to your body, check with it, feel how it feels and how it responds to both your diet and your training and you will easily find the way that works for you and your muscular body.

A great little helper when you want to stay in alignment with your goals is to get yourself a training diary. This can make a huge difference in your progress and can help you gain muscles easier.

Why is that?

First of all, it is a great way to help you stay focused. Unless you keep your mind on what it is you want to achieve – big muscles, perhaps gaining at least 5 pounds of muscles each month – you will have a hard time to get what you want. Almost all successful people do this, whatever area they are being successful in. First they set their goals and then they do sub goals and also, very importantly, keep track of how they are progressing.

With a training diary, you can easily do this and I promise it will help you stay motivated.

So how do you best use you training diary or log?

It’s a great idea to sit down with it once a month(or when you’ve decided you want to finally gain those muscles you’ve been dreaming of for so long). Write down what you want to achieve. If you are just beginning your training, write down how you want your body to look like in maybe a year from this date and how heavy weights you want to be able to lift by then. Then look at the month and set goals for how many times you want to train each week, and you can also write down what progress you wish to see. This will tell your subconscious which direction you’ve decided to take and it will be easier to get your whole being to do what it takes to reach your goals.

Then, every time you are going to the gym, write down in your log which muscle group you’ve trained, how heavy weights you lifted, how many reps you did and how much time you spent at the gym. You can also rate your energy level, how easy it felt, maybe scale it 1-10.

It is also beneficial to write down in your diary what you’ve been eating and how much calories you’ve taken in this day. By doing this you make sure that you get enough energy each day since you do need more energy when you are beginning to build big muscles.

Having a training diary surely is one of the most helpful things you can have when you want to gain muscles, and the few minutes you use to focus your mind on your goals each day truly makes a difference. Try it and see for yourself!

There are many things we can do to have our muscles to grow as fast as we want them to. some people may find that it is harder than they thought and usually it is a reason for that. You basically have to know some tricks that will make your muscle building much easier and more efficient and you will be surprised instead on how fast you are bulking up.

So what are the secrets?

First of all, train your mind. This may seem a bit weird to some but I promise you, if your mind is not focused on muscle gain you will become sloppy and start to miss out on doing your training properly. Remind yourself over and over again what your goal is and keep your focus on that. Imagine how good it will feel to have the body you have dreamed of etc. If you are not interested in bulking up, then what’s the point? Make sure it is something you do because you want to do it, make it fun. You will start to include more and more things into your lifestyle that will be of great aid when you are to gain muscles.

Alright then, so you are focused and motivated, you know what you want. What then is the fastest way to success from here? Now you have to have a good training technique to get the most out of the hours spent in the gym. Make sure you train with intensity. No use to spend long hours at the gym – you are better off spending 30-45 minutes each time and work out hard this time. The fewer reps the better in general if you are after big muscles. After you have done a set of 6-8 reps you should not be able to make another one, this is how heavy the weights should be to maximize the results.

Another important aspect that you want to bring to your lifestyle is to eat properly. If you don’t have the right building blocks for your muscles they won’t be able to grow. Eat food that are high in protein, a good idea is to add a few protein shakes to your diet each day. You also want to increase the amount of calories you eat every day and with a few extra protein shakes to your daily diet, this will be taken care of easily.

Last and also important is to sleep properly every night. Make sure you get a good amount of sleep, 7-8 hours at least. This is the time when your muscles grow the most and if you make sure you have a good rest you make it easier for the body to do its thing and repair and build up the muscle tissue in your body.

So many people are going to the gym day after day and they just don’t seem to gain as much muscles as they would like to. This can be due to a lot of different reasons and if you want to see your muscle grow fast and big it is good to have the knowledge on how to work out before you go after your goal.

One of the most important things is to not overdo the training. Don’t work the same muscle every day but let them rest for at least 48 hours. As a matter of fact, your muscles are not growing while you are doing the exercise but afterwards, while you are resting. This is when the muscle tissue is being repaired and if there has been more pressure on it than usually, the cells will be triggered to build more muscle tissue and you will see a gain. If you don’t give your muscles this important time of rest it won’t be able to repair properly and you will only experience tired and possibly painful muscles instead of the big, strong muscles you are after.

While you are doing the exercises at the gym, you want to maximize the pressure on the muscles. Always use weights that are as heavy as you barely can do your reps. If you are able to do 20-30 reps your weights are to light and you should instead put more weights on and do no more than 10 reps on each set. To really optimize the muscle gain you can do only 1 set of 10 reps and lift so heavy that you couldn’t do 1 more lift. Make sure the exercise is performed in a slow and controlled way. Both on the way up and down. So short and intense is the best way to go about it and you don’t have to be every day at the gym.

A good idea is to have 2 days off each week and let your whole body rest those days. By training properly and combine this with good rest and a great deal of protein you can gain muscles much faster than you’d thought possible. If you are focused you will be able to gain quite a few pounds each months in pure muscle mass and your body will look great.

So many people go to the gym nowadays and are wanting to get the body they are dreaming about. However, there are quite a few that find it hard to stay focused and to find the motivation to keep up the good work. They go a few times and then they might not see results straight away and their motivation fades away and soon they spend their time in front of the television instead of at the gym. If you can fit into this category there are a few things you can do to exercise you mind that will help you stay focused and easier achieve your goals.

Dreaming is great and it is part of the tricks you can do to be able to have your focus on your goal. By setting intentions and imagine how your body will look like and how it will feel to have that strong and muscular body you will be able to get results much faster. After all, when you become a friend of that joyous image your motivation to go to the gym will stay with you and your willingness to achieve it will come naturally.

After all, training should be fun, and something we do because it makes us feel good, not because we feel like we have to do it for one or another reason. Let your joy guide you and make the time you spend at the gym something you look forward to do. There are many things you can do to motivate yourself.

Before you start doing your work out, do some warm ups not only for your body but also for your mind. Think about all the good reasons there are for you to do these exercises for your body. Think about how good it feels to feel your body work and how much fun it is to develop your strength. Imagine how great it will feel when you are able to lift weights that are twice as heavy as the most you can lift at this point and have that image in your mind. Find the thoughts that motivates you.

Let your journey towards the body you are dreaming of be a joyous one, and keep in mind that usually the first few weeks are the ones that often feel hardest. When you pass the first month, you will both feel and see some results; maybe you feel more energized and your muscles will be harder and a bit bigger. This will make it easy to keep on going and by this point, training has become a habit of yours, something that is part of your routine which also helps you keep up the good work. The body of your dreams is only a few weightlifting sessions away.

When you want to gain muscles and you start going to the gym working out, it is good if you know what type of muscle growth you want to get. Do you want to build toned muscles or is your aim to gain big muscles? The way you work out determines to a great deal how your body will look.

To gain big muscles there are a few things to bear in mind while doing your workout and that will give you the results you are looking for much faster that you were expecting.

First of all, you want to make sure that you spend no more than at the most 45 minutes at the gym. This is the maximum time that the energy that’s stored in the body will last and after that you only create tiredness in your body and less energy will be left for the muscle repair work that takes place after a workout.

Remember, the building of muscle tissue happens when you are resting, not when you are doing the actual working out.

This is why it is so important to let the trained muscle rest for about 48 hours before you are working it again. Without proper rest between sessions you actually delay the muscle building process.

While at the gym, you want to make sure that you trained the muscle groups intensely. This is how to build big muscles. You do fewer reps and fewer sets but with heavy weights. If you think that choosing a lower weight and in this way being able to do as many reps as you want will make your muscles big – think again.

Different muscle groups require a bit different amounts of reps, but for most of them between 6-10 reps is a good number. When you are doing your last rep, you should not be able to do one more; that is how heavy the weights should be if you want to gain big muscles. You also want to make sure you don’t rest more than one minute between reps for best results.

Another important factor to your working out is to always increase the weights over time. Your body soon adapts to the new conditions and unless you increase the weights your muscles will stay the same. If you follow these few guidelines while working out at the gym, you will see that you muscles can grow big much easier than you’d thought.

Remember that Less is More, less reps > more weight. ; )

Testosterone is the male hormone that is one of the main catalysts for muscle growth. With high levels of testosterone you’re body will be able to build new muscle cells with more ease.

Instead of going the artificial way about it, take the path where you trigger the amount of testosterone to raise the natural way. By training in a certain way, as well as eating food that’s appropriate for this purpose you can make your muscles grow much faster.

Testosterone exists naturally in both the female and the male body, but in a higher concentration in the
male. This hormones controls a range of different activities in the body, and one of them is the rebuilding of muscle tissue.

To keep your testosterone levels high, you want to focus a lot of your energy on working out your legs. Make it a habit to train your legs properly since this helps to keep your levels of testosterone high. The squat and the deadlift are excellent examples of exercises that boosts your testosterone levels.

Also you want to make sure that your work out sessions are performed in an intense way, that the weights you are lifting are maximizing your capacity. When you have finished you last rep (of which there shouldn’t be more than at most 10 in set) you should not be able to lift one more time and you know that you gave your most.

Zinc is a mineral that we naturally gain from some of the food we eat and it keeps the levels of testosterone high. Oysters are packed with this mineral and you can also find a good amount in red meat and poultry. Other sources are beans, nuts, whole grains, seafood and dairy products. Eat a lot of those foods, and cut down on the alcohol intake, since alcohol has the effect to decrease the zinc levels in the body which leads to less testosterone.

Other food products that boosts testosterone levels in the body are; garlic, eggs, broccoli and cabbage.

You also want to have a diet with a high amount of monounsaturated fats. Those can be found in high concentration in most vegetable oils, nuts and seeds. Don’t cut down on your fat intake if you want to gain muscle, make sure it comes from sources with fat that has a high quality. Monounsaturated fats naturally increases the levels of testosterone in your body.

High stress levels also decreases the amount of testosterone by making the amount of corticosteroid in your blood increase. If you feel stressed a lot of the time, find ways to relax that works for you. Also make sure you get enough sleep, since it is during your sleep that the levels of testosterone naturally increases and most of the cell repair and is going on.

These are some of the ways to give you a natural gain of testosterone which in its turn will lead to faster muscle gain, and your body will still be healthy.

There are a range of different supplements out on the market that can help you gain muscles faster. If you are a vegetarian and want to see rapid muscle growth, it is very beneficial to find a protein powder of high quality.

Muscles are built mainly by water and protein and most protein is found in animal products, even though there are ways to get a sufficient amount through a vegetarian diet if you put in some energy to it. The easiest way though, is to get a protein powder. I will here give a little guidance through the muscle building supplement jungle so that you can get the ones that are good for you.

If you are a vegetarian you want to make sure that the protein powder you’re getting has all the essential amino acids and also a good amount of vitamins and minerals.

The amino acids are the building blocks for the muscles and are essential if you want to have a proper muscle gain.

If you are on a strict vegetarian diet you want to get a protein powder that is based on soy protein. This is a rated as higher quality-wise than most other protein sources, containing all the 8 essential amino acids. Check carefully if it contains other protein sources, such as milk or egg before you buy it. You also want to make sure that the muscle building supplements also contains vitamin B12 since this is a vitamin that a lot of vegans and vegetarians are lacking.

If you don’t eat fish, it is also a good idea to eat an omega 3 supplement daily. It has been found that the essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 are really helpful when you are building your muscles. Apart from being present in fat fish such as salmon, it is also found in flax-seeds. In health food stores you can normally find extracted flaxseed oil if you prefer to have strictly vegetarian supplements.

By making sure that you get a good amount of protein daily, together with other supplements that are essential for the functioning of the body, your work out sessions at the gym will be able to give you the results you are aiming for. Being a vegetarian bodybuilder does not need to be harder than it is of you are a meat eater. All it takes is to know how to get the right muscle building supplements and you are good to go.

This enhances the muscles to grow the most.

The first exercise that’s great to do is the bench press. It’s well known and popular and if you’re using it in a proper way it can make your chest muscles grow fast. Lie on the bench and hold either a barbell or two dumbbells with your hand, resting at your chest. Then lift the dumbbells or the barbell until your arms are extended, pause for a moment before slowly lowering them down.

The advantage of using two barbells instead of one dumbbell is that you can change the angle and in this way train different parts of the chest muscles. Alternate from time to time to get the most out of this exercise. Do 8-10 reps with heavy weights in three sets for best results.

Incline dumbbell flies is another great exercise for training your chest muscles and is focusing mainly on the inner part of the chest. Here you lie on an incline bench, preferably set to about 30 degrees. Hold one dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing towards each other, held just over your abdomen. While raising the arms up towards your shoulders, arch you elbows out, away from the body. While at the shoulders, pause for a moment before slowly moving your hands back to the starting position. This exercise should be done in a slow and controlled motion. Do two sets with 8-10 reps.

The third exercise that’s great for gaining chest muscles is the pushup. It’s so simple yet highly efficient, and works so many parts of your body. Make it a routine to do pushups at least two days a week. You can start off by doing 3 sets with 10 reps in each and just with your body weight.

When your muscles grow and you become stronger you can increase the weight by putting weights around your waist or on your back. The pushup is also great since you can do it with your arms wide apart or together and in this way work on different parts of the chest.

So by doing these three killer exercises on a regular basis you’ll be able to get you chest muscles toned and shaped in the way you want them to be.
